Catalyst is a competitive program designed to spotlight the most promising healthtech startups through a curated pitch and networking experience at eCapWest. Finalists are selected by a council of industry leaders and invited to present on site.

Who should apply to the Catalyst program?

We’re looking for innovative healthtech startups with real-world solutions, strong market potential, and the ability to make a measurable impact in the next 12–18 months.

Who is on the Catalyst Council and what is their role?

The Catalyst Council is made up of respected healthcare operators, investors, and industry experts who review applications, score startups, and select the finalists.

What are the selection criteria for Catalyst finalists?

Finalists are chosen based on innovation, market readiness, clinical or operational impact, scalability, and the strength of the founding team.

What do Catalyst finalists receive if chosen?

Finalists gain access to eCapWest, the opportunity to pitch their solution to key decision-makers, meet with investors, network with healthcare leaders, and build traction for their business.

Is there a cost to apply or attend if selected?

There is no cost to apply. If selected, there is a cost to attend.

Are travel and accommodations included?

No, selected Innovators will need to cover their costs for travel and accommodations.

Can I attend eCapWest without applying for Catalyst?

Yes, Sponsorships are required in order to attend. Please contact us and a member of our team will reach out with more information

Mathew Thengil is a strategic and innovation-driven healthcare executive with more than 20 years of experience in the skilled nursing and rehabilitation industry. With a clinical foundation as a licensed Occupational Therapist and a proven track record in multi-state healthcare operations, he currently serves as Chief Operating Officer at Ignite Medical Resorts, where he oversees 33 luxury skilled nursing and rehabilitation facilities across six states.

Throughout his career, Mathew has been recognized for advancing clinical excellence through technology and operational innovation. He has led the integration of cutting-edge rehabilitation technologies—including robotic gait training, immersive virtual reality therapy, and artificial intelligence solutions—into post-acute care settings to improve patient outcomes, staff efficiency, and overall operational performance. Under his leadership, Ignite became one of the first skilled nursing organizations in the United States to implement advanced robotic gait training technology within its rehabilitation programs.

Adam Lewis is the General Manager of Talent and Workforce Management at Viventium, and founder of Apploi. Prior to the acquisition by Viventium he was Apploi’s CEO. He has built a reputation as an energetic and passionate entrepreneur, as well as a thought leader and innovator in the HR and healthcare technology space.

Adam has been featured in major media outlets including The Wall Street Journal, New York Post, Bloomberg TV, and ABC News. He was a finalist for Ernst & Young’s 2023 Entrepreneur of the Year and was named one of Crain’s Top HR Tech Leaders in 2022.

Outside of work, Adam is a husband and father of five. He is deeply committed to community and charitable initiatives, serves on several nonprofit boards, and enjoys running, biking, and fitness.
